Willard Lawerence Dyer

Willard Lawerence Dyer of Carter, OK passed away October 31st, 2026 at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 8 days. He was born to William Lawson and Zelma (Blankenship) Dyer in Carter, OK on April 23, 1938 and attended Carter Schools.

Willard enlisted in the United States Army in his senior year of high school and later joined the Navy. After serving his country he began working at the Carter Coop with his brother Rosie, driving a wheat truck during harvest. Willard also worked for Doyle Walker and ended his work driving a cattle truck for Leroy Thompson.

He enjoyed driving around the country and visiting friends.

Willard was preceded in death by his parents, William Lawson and Zelma Dyer; siblings, William Donald Dyer, Franklin Roosevelt "Rosie" Dyer, Martha Mae "Dyer" Barry, J.T. Dyer, Troy Lee Dyer, Roy Dean Dyer, and Charles Edward Dyer; nieces, Tina Renea Dyer and Dana Sue Dyer; and nephew, Justin Dean Barry.

He is survived by his sister, Charlene Dyer; two special nieces, Melisa Hearn and Kathy Cook; sister-in-law Shirley Dyer; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
