Warren Aughtry Lackey was born October 4th, 1952 in Brawley, California to Elsie Mae (Zumwalt) and Lee Aughtry Lackey. He passed away Saturday, September 13th, 2025 at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 9 days.

Warren grew up in the Herring and Cheyenne communities and was raised by Lee and Helen Lackey. He attended school in Cheyenne graduating in 1970 and immediately began his career in the oil and natural gas industry. He made his home in Oklahoma where he raised his family. He formally ended his working career with the Weatherford Cooperation in the early 2000's but continued with his own side businesses. Warren loved animals and raised ostriches, emus and potbelly pigs and also enjoyed driving and racing stock car's.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and one grandson, James Cole.

Warren is survived by his 2 daughters, Amanda Hunter and husband, Chris, Elk City, OK and Kristal Lackey, Hobbs, NM; 7 grandchildren, Xavier Lackey, Mannuel Castro, Kaibry'Anna Jones, Lilly Boyd, Reagan Hunter, Maelee Hunter, and Kit Hunter; 1 sister, Barbara Lackey, El Reno, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
