Obituary

Wanda Lou Patton was born on November 9, 1934 to Nolan Nelson and Clara Edith (Street) Porter in Carter, OK. She passed on January 10, 2025 at her home in Sayre, OK at the age of 90 years, 2 months, and 1 day.

Wanda grew up in Carter and attended Carter Public Schools graduating with the class of 1952. After high school, she attended college for a year in McPherson, KS. On September 19, 1954 She married Lloyd Patton in Carter. They made their home in Carter. She worked at the ASC until Lloyd was stationed in Colorado Springs, CO. When Lloyd was stationed in Germany, Wanda moved back to Carter and worked at Grubitz Furniture. She also worked at the First National Bank in Carter until Brian was born. She enjoyed going to her children's sporting events, playdays, and rodeos. Lloyd and Wanda moved to Sayre in 1984 where she worked for First National Bank. Wanda also became the book keeper at the Delhi Gin while Lloyd managed it. She also helped with the farming and ranching until the grandkids came along.

Wanda was an avid Thunder fan. She watched every game and recorded all the stats. She knew all the players and exactly how many points they scored. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spent all the time she could with them. She was also a gifted seamstress and made clothes for her children and crocheted afghans for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wanda was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed many church activities and visiting with her friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Patton, parents Nolan and Edith Porter, great grandson Ryker Patton, brother Jarrell Porter.

She is survived by her children Brian Patton and wife Diane of Sayre, OK and Debra Webb of Elk City, OK; grandchildren Dillon Patton, Michael Patton and wife Jessica, Brodie Patton, Christal Bentley, Alicia Cohagen, Eric Cohagen and wife Lindsay, Jackie Miller and husband Dakota, and Hunter Webb and wife Raegan; great grandchildren Christian, Heston, Lillian, Caleb, Baylor, Presley, Barrett, Jagger, Emma, Addi, Austin, Emery, Brooks, and Taytum; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
