Virgie Mae Region was born February 4th, 1942 in Moorewood, Oklahoma to Julia Agnus (Bohanon) and Lonzo Orval Reed. She passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma on Thursday, August 9th, 2023 at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 5 days.

Virgie grew up in the Berlin community where she attended school. She remained their until her senior year when she transferred to Elk City, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school in 1959. After graduation she remained in the Elk City area where she met and was married to Troy Lee Region on June 30, 1960. After their marriage they began working together where Troy was the manager at the movie theater and also the drive-in. Together they moved to Altus, Oklahoma and Wellington, Texas managing theaters for Common Wealth. They were transferred to Albuquerque, New Mexico where they managed a twin screen drive-in movie theater. In the mid 70's they found new business ventures in Albuquerque, among which was selling indian jewelry and traveled around the United States extensively. In 1982 they completed their life circle and moved back to Elk City where they owned and operated Granny's Kitchen. In the early part of 2000 they owned and managed various businesses including the Bargain Shop furniture and appliance store in Sayre. In 2016 Virgie formally retired and filled her time with caring for her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Troy Lee Region; granddaughter, Jema Region; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Virgie is survived by her 3 children, William Region and wife, Linda, Sayre, OK, Tina Gateley, Sayre, OK, and Jacky Region and wife, Susan, Whispering Pines, VA; 3 grandchildren, Bryan Region and wife, Erin, Andy Region, Zachary Region; 4 great grandchildren, Jacey Connor, Kaden Region, Karen Region, and Braygan Region; 1 sister, Agnus Price, Elk City, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
