Vicki Jane Carey, 73, passed away on September 6, 2026, in Elk City, Oklahoma, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, family, and more than a little sass.

Vickie was born on December 24, 1952, in Pampa, Texas, to Oscar and Erma Hamon and was raised in Reydon, Oklahoma. It was there that she met the love of her life, Ronnie Carey, when they were just kids in junior high. They graduated together from Reydon High School in 1971 and were married on July 10 of that same year at the Baptist Church in Reydon.

For the next 52 years, Vicki and Ronnie built a life together—one filled with family, adventures, motorcycles, weekends outdoors, and a love that stood the test of time until Ronnie's passing in 2023.

Vicki's greatest joy was her family. She chose to be a stay-at-home mom, dedicating her life to raising her two children, Vicki D and Doyle. She was a loving wife, an amazing mother, and the kind of mom who was also a best friend. Family wasn't simply part of Vickie's life—it was the center of it.

Vicki and Ronnie were members of the Good Timers Motorcycle Club, and some of their favorite memories were made on the back of a motorcycle with their children along for the adventure. She loved being outdoors, spending time at the river, living in the country, and being involved in her community. And she certainly knew the value of a good weekend at the KOA. It didn't have to be fancy—if her family was there, there were stories to tell and laughter to be had, Vickie was right where she wanted to be.

To her grandchildren, she wasn't Vicki—she was simply Meme.

And being Meme suited her perfectly. She loved her grandchildren fiercely and brought the same humor, sass, loyalty, and love to being a grandmother that she brought to everything else in her life. She had a way of making people laugh, speaking her mind, and making sure the people she loved always knew exactly where they stood—with her firmly in their corner.

Vickie is survived by her daughter, Vicki Breeze, and grandchildren Tisyn Ortega and Ryan Carey; her son, Doyle Carey, and his wife, Kayla, and grandchildren Tyler Carey, Kayden Carey, and Kaydee Carey; her beloved great-granddaughter, Brynlee; and bonus son Stacey Cook and fiancée Jessica Lyons. She is also survived by her sister, Diane Riley, and her husband, Terry, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronnie Carey; her parents, Oscar and Erma Hamon; and her sister, Darlene Harmon.

Vicki's family will miss so many things—the sound of her laugh, her quick wit, her sass, her stories, and simply knowing she was there. They will miss Mom. They will miss Meme. They will miss their friend.

But what Vicki created during her 73 years doesn't end with her passing. It lives on in the family she raised, the grandchildren she adored, the great-granddaughter who will grow up hearing stories about her Meme, and in countless memories of motorcycle rides, river weekends, KOA trips, family gatherings, laughter, and a life well lived.

Vicki loved Ronnie. She loved her children. She loved being Meme. She loved her family with her whole heart.
