Obituary

Ursula S Henry, aged 83, passed away on April 22, 2025. She was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma in mid-February and spent the time in between her diagnosis and her passing surround by her family, friends and her greyhound, Luke.

Ursula was born November 25, 1941 in Stuttgart, Germany to Paul Seifert and Lina Charlotte Wӧrner. She was raised by her grandparents Friedrich Seifert and Anna Maria Gӧssler in Stuttgart until the age of 18 when she met her future husband, Richard A. Henry, an Army GI stationed in Stuttgart.

In 1960, Ursula moved to the United States, became a citizen in 1963, and embraced the role of an Army wife, frequently relocating and raising her children solo during her husband's deployments to Vietnam and Korea.

In 1978, she moved to the Panama Canal Zone with her husband and their two youngest children. During her time in Panama, she began her career as a Management Analyst for the US Government. Following her tenure in Panama, she continued her civil service career for 42 years across various locations including Colorado, Texas, and Germany. In Germany, she took great pleasure in scouring flea markets for European treasures.

While in Germany, she reconnected with her mother whom she hadn't seen since she was 4 years old. She spent her last two years in Germany getting acquainted with her mother and half-siblings.

In 1997, she dedicated herself to rescuing retired racing greyhounds, becoming actively involved with several rescue groups where she fostered and adopted many dogs. Her first adopted greyhound was Popeye, and by the time of her passing, she had fostered or adopted over 40 greyhounds. One of her final wishes was to donate her extensive collection of greyhound memorabilia and collectibles to the Hounds of the Heartland Greyhound Association in Oklahoma City.

Ursula was a proud member of the Democratic Party and served as her county's Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer.

Ursula was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, former husband and half-brother Walter Lindemann.
