Tonya
Erwin
Nov 2, 1967 — Oct 18, 2025
Tonya Renee was born November 2, 1967 in Stamford, Texas. She was the youngest of 3 children born to Beulah Faye Nash. She passed away at her home in Elk City, Oklahoma on Saturday, October 18th, 2025 at the age of 57.
Tonya and family moved to Elk City, OK in 1972 for her father, Paul Nash's job in the oilfield. She attended Elk City Schools. At an early age she began working in child care and later found her passion caring for the elderly. She was married to her high school sweetheart Todd Erwin on July 24, 1988 in Elk City. Together they made Elk City their home and in 1993 they welcomed their only daughter, Tinae Erwin into the family. After the birth of her daughter, Tonya remained a stay-at-home mother and cared for her daughter. In 2015, Tonya's health began to decline, but she still enjoyed taking drives, listening to music and dancing, watching her favorite TV shows, especially westerns, and eating lobster tails from Outback Steakhouse. She also enjoyed caring for animals, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Tonya was one that always had a smile on her face and never seemed to meet a stranger. Anyone that knew Tonya well, knew that she was a kind and caring person who was always laughing, unless you made her mad, then you better watch out.
She loved spending quality time with her mother, daughter, and sister. In the last years of Tonya's life, she lived in her home with her sister who helped take care of her where the two of them spent many hours sitting on the back porch enjoying the weather and the sounds of nature.
She is preceded in death by her biological father Billy Don Pace, her father Samuel Paul Nash, and brother Rodger Dale Pace.
She is survived by her daughter Tinae Erwin of Oklahoma City, OK, mother Faye Nash of Elk City, OK, sister Ronda Devorce of Elk City, OK, niece Destinee Davis of Wichita Falls, TX, niece Kendra Balderas of Weatherford, OK, and nephew Sean Pace of Elk City, OK, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Tonya was very loved and will be missed greatly, particularly for her funny personality and ability to make other people laugh. Her family is at peace knowing that she is healed, in heaven with her lord, and continuing to make others laugh.
