Tommie Dewayne Embery was born on July 13, 1958 to Frank Rawland Embery and Patsy Angela (Elmore) Coleman in Pampa Texas. He passed on May 31, 2024 at his home in Elk City at the ag of 65 years, 10 months, and 18 days.
Tommie grew up in Shamrock, TX. He attended school at Shamrock and graduated with the class of 1976. After high school, he began his career in the oil and gas industry as a pipe liner for Pasley Pipeline in Shamrock. Tommie moved to Roll, OK and later Elk City and worked as a meter tech for Trans OK until his retirement in 2000. In 1979, Tommie married Amelia Keahey and to this union two children were born Angela and Dusty. He married Betsy Embery in 1997. After Betsy passed, Tommie married Kathy Embery in 2023 in Elk City.
In his spare time, Tommie taught himself how to play the steel guitar. He could play anything you asked him to. He was known for his barbeque and quite array of smokers. In junior high Tommie was baptized at the Shamrock Church of Christ and enjoyed attending the Sayre Church of Christ with his daughter Angela, and when he could no longer attend watched Trinity Church on the web.
He is preceded in death by his wife Betsy Embery, parents Frank Embry and Patsy Coleman, and step dad Don Coleman.
He is survived by his wife of the home Kathy Embery, children Angela Espinosa and husband Robert of Cheyenne, OK, Dusty Embery and wife Chelsea of Norman, OK; grandchildren Ivy Scrivner, Sol Espinosa, Isa Embery; brother Franky Embery and wife Bliss Embery of Amarillo, TX, Jimmy Embery and wife Terri of Elk City, OK; nephews Justin Embery, Brandon Embery, and Bradley Embery; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Barbara Schlie, extended family and a host of friends.
