Terry Glen Jordan was born on December 30th, 1941 at his home on the family farm southeast of Canute, Oklahoma. His parents were Noble John and Clementina Marie (Spieker) Jordan.
Terry grew up with five siblings and attended St. Francis Catholic School. He graduated from Canute High School in 1960. Terry's nickname growing up was "Tator". After graduating he hitchhiked to Pueblo, Colorado where he attended telegraph code school. He then moved to Savannah, Illinois to work for Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad. It was after his move to Illinois he was taken in by Max and Francis Carbaugh who treated him like a son. After 3 years in Illinois, he returned to Canute where he joined the Army National Guard and continued until 1969. It was during this time he was married to Glenda Elaine (Spitz) Jordan on April 30, 1964. Together they made Canute their home and raised their family.
Terry found employment with N&N Fertilizer before purchasing Jordan's Recreation in the early 1970's. He continued until 1982 when he began working for Albert Brothers and then Circle A Western Wear for over 40 years. He was know as "The Hat Shaper of Western Oklahoma." While Terry continued his career with the Albert family, he also farmed and care for his vegetable garden.
Terry took pride in his work, but was also involved in the work at St. Matthew Catholic Church including being a 3rd and 4th degree Knight of Columbus. He was a member of Canute Lions Club "Tailtwister". Terry also was the president of the Canute Cemetery Association.
Family was Terry's pride and joy and spent every day with his wife, Glenda, until his last day. They have three children, Dena Kelley and husband, Mike, Canute, OK, Kim Jordan and wife, Kelli, Elk City, OK, and Tana Jordan and Daniel Ferrari, Foss, OK; his grandchildren and storytelling audience, Brandon Engel and Melanie, Dusty Engel and Jamie, Lindsey Blank and Keith, Lacey Nelson and Wess, Blake Jordan and Sarah, Rylee Jordan, Kinlee Jordan, Devon Jordan and Colby, Austin Kerr and Addy, Madison Kerr and Cody. Terry's great grandchildren, Regan, Ethan, Jayda, Conner, Mavrik, Cole, Cooper, Tate, Charlie, Jett, Walker, Landry, Salem, Judah, and Halen; one great grandchild on the way, Baby Boy Twyman; his 3 siblings, Wanda Richardson and husband, Johnny, Jackie Jordan and wife, Deanna, and Retha Congdon; and one very special friend, Edward Albert and his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Jimmy and Leon Jordan, and 2 nephews, Grant Merz and Troy Jordan.
Terry never met a stranger and had a strong influence on his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and those he came in contact with at Circle A Western Wear.
