Teresa Ann Burns was born November 11th, 1963 to Jerry and Beverly (Peirson) Riley in Cyril, Oklahoma. She passed on March 6th, 2024 in Burns Flat, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years, 3 months, and 24 days.
Teresa grew up in Cement, Oklahoma. She attended school at Cement and graduated with the class of 1982. Teresa married David Burns on November 5, 1984 in Vernon, TX and to this union 3 children were born Priscilla, Samantha, and Jodie. Teresa first started working in fast food before beginning her career in the healthcare industry by becoming a Med Tech. She worked as a Med Tech in Fredrick and Altus, OK. She continued to further her education by becoming a licensed practical nurse at the Western Technology Center in Burns Flat. She worked as a LPN for five years at Altus Hospital. Teresa then pursued to become a Registered Nurse at the Western Oklahoma State College. She worked as an RN for Great Plains Medical Center in Elk City in labor and delivery. Those were the most rewarding years of her work career. She then worked at the VA Center in Clinton, OK.
In her spare time, Teresa loved spending time with her family, especially joking with and giving the grandchildren a hard time. She also enjoyed reading and crafting. In her younger years, she liked to ride horses and run the barrels.
Teresa is preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Beverly Riley, sister Pamela Miller, son-in-law Devin Lopez, and grandson James Christopher Dupont.
She is survived by her husband David Burns of Burns Flat; 3 children Priscilla Harrison and husband John of Burns Flat, Samantha Mandrell and husband Blake of Burns Flat, Jodie Dupont of Burns Flat; grandchildren Breanna, Bailey, Kodie, Alex, Allison, Natalynn, Emma, Braxton, Lucas, and Renegade; brother James Riley and wife Tammy of Dill City, OK; brother-in-law Daniel Burns and wife Lisa of Panama City, Florida; sister-in-law Lynn Burns of Panama City, Florida; one aunt Lou Simmons and husband Mac of Cement, OK; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
