Obituary

In Loving Memory of Sheila Ann (Williams) (Davis) Harness August 22, 1955 – March 14, 2025. Cherished mom, grandmother, sister, wife, and loyal friend.

Sheila Ann (Williams) (Davis) Harness was born on August 22, 1955 to Irvin Roscoe Williams and Fay Irene (Ewy) Rudd in Elk City, OK.  She transitioned peacefully into the embrace of Jesus on March 14, 2025 at the age of 69 years, 6 months, and 20 days surrounded by her loving family.

Sheila grew up in Elk City and attended Elk City Public Schools.  She graduated with the class of 1973. In her younger years, Sheila enjoyed horse-back riding, art and her friends, and performing charity work as a nurse's aid. That calling to help others served her well as upon graduation, she found employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant at GPRMC. Later, Sheila worked 13 years for Gene Davidson of Davidson Jewelry in downtown Elk City and then transitioned to Gem Gallery under the employ of Patrick McKinney. But Sheila's love for serving never left her. In later years, she enrolled in the nursing program at Sayre Junior College and worked as a GPRMC night shift ICU CNA nurse.

Sheila enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Wonderful friend and caregiver, she never lost her gift for spreading love and kindness to all who knew her. Her other passions included the outdoors, fishing lakes and rivers, tending her ever-increasing flower and vegetable gardens, exploring, and collecting rare rocks. Sheila was also an avid collector of antiques, fine jewelry, and vintage records. Not lost on many was Sheila's creativeness. She enjoyed and excelled at painting, stenciling, woodworking, and cross-stitching. Most important, Sheila enjoyed spending quiet time in God's Word. The Bible was dear to her heart and she finally read it cover to cover in her last year on this earth.

She is preceded in death by her father Irvin Williams, mother Fay Irene Rudd, and brother Eugene Marshall Williams.

Cherishing her memory is her husband Donald Harness of Elk City; daughter Toni Michelle (Charlson) Trent and husband Adam of Yukon, OK, grandchildren Dalen Michael Kelley of Elk City, great grandchildren Averyonna Nichole Vinson, Novallei Faye Kelley, Karson Thomas Kelley, Kinsley Taylor Kelley; daughter Kendi Kayle (Davis) McDonald and husband Vance of Elk City, grandchildren Coman Kayle McDonald, Ken Marie Ann McDonald, Karse Alan McDonald; brother Jack Williams of Elk City, niece Aubrey Clark, great niece Rhiannon Clark; extended family and a host of friends.

A celebration of Sheila's life will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at The Chapel at Fairlawn Cemetery, 1607 North Washington Ave, Elk City, Oklahoma, officiated by Pastor James Dean. The Celebration is under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Whinery Funeral Service and Cremation Center of Elk City.
