Obituary

Sharon Rae (Sandusky) Pfanenstiel was born on January 24, 1949, in Sayre, Oklahoma, to Douglas Richard Sandusky and Odessa Rae Craig and went to heaven on June 3, 2023, from Mangum Hospital at the age of 74 years, 4 months, and 10 days. Sharon was the oldest of three children and grew up in Doxey, Clinton, and Sayre, Oklahoma.

Sharon first married at the age of 17 and from this union she had two sons, Timothy and Douglas Marshall. After two previous marriages, Sharon met God's perfect partner for her, Phillip Pfanenstiel. The were married on April 4, 1986, and spent nearly 35 wonderful years together until Phil's death in 2020. Phil became a wonderful father figure for Sharon's sons, and Sharon was blessed with Phil's three children, Daniel, Tressa, and Sherri. Sharon and Phil made their home in Seiling, Oklahoma, from 1987 to 1994 until Phil retired due to health issues and they moved to Elk City for the remainder of their lives.

Sharon loved to play the piano and sing. At the age of three, she could sit at the piano and play an entire song just from watching her Uncle David play. At the age of nine, Sharon became the praise and worship leader in her small family church in Sayre. She went on to be a praise and worship leader in many churches throughout her life. She also used her talents to minister to nursing home residents throughout Oklahoma.

Some of Sharon's various occupations included working for Brewer Answering Service, waitressing, and cooking for daycare. In Seiling, Sharon supplemented the family income by starting a residential and commercial cleaning service, which she continued for some years after their move to Elk City.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Phil.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy Marshall and Douglas Marshall and wife, Rhonda of Elk City, Oklahoma, stepson, Daniel Pfanenstiel and wife Alice fo Sublette, Kansas, two stepdaughters, Tressa De la Torre and husband, Jorge of Kismet, Kansas, and Sherri Bartel and husband, Bill of Meade, Kansas, brother Mickey Sandusky and wife Carol of Canute, Oklahoma, sister Carla Ely of Elk City, Oklahoma, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
