Shana Rene' McKennon was born December 7th, 1967 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Paula Pat (Teurman) and Jackie Ray McKennon. She passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at the age of 56 years, 1 month and 13 days.

Shana grew up in Tuttle, Oklahoma where she began school and continued until after her 7th grade years. In 1980 she moved with her family to Sayre, Oklahoma where she attended Sayre Schools graduating in 1986. During her time in high school she was a basketball star and obtained many honors throughout her years at Sayre including Oklahoma All-State selection. Shana continued her education at Oklahoma Christian College where she also played her collegiate basketball career. She transferred to Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she graduated in 1991 with a bachelors degree that allowed her to pursue her passion in counseling youth and adults. She taught at Sayre Public Schools, and counseled at the prison before her health forced her retirement. Shana enjoyed and her passion was helping people in any way possible and could often be seen with a Sonic Diet Coke in her hand.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jack McKennon; grandparents, Edith "Mimi" and Papa Jack McKennon; Minimom, Pat Teurman and Granddad, Paul Teurman; and one cousin, Amber Dawn Anderson.

Shana is survived by her son, Drake McKennon, Sayre, OK; 1 grandson, Alex McKennon, Sayre, OK; her mother, Paula Hudson and husband, Ricky, Sayre, OK; 1 brother, Todd McKennon and wife, Tanya, Polo, MO; nephews, Daniel, Jonah, Samuel, and John McKennon, Kansas City, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.
