Sandra Kay Downs was born April 2nd, 1944 in Abilene, Texas to Ardalia Louise (Leonard) and Kenneth Charlie Kilpatrick. She went home to be with our Lord on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Cordell Memorial Hospital at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 9 days.

Sandy's family moved a lot due to her father's work, finally settling in  Erick, Oklahoma as a teenager, where she completed her education in 1962. During her senior year, she married James Leo Downs in Erick, Oklahoma on July 14, 1961. Shortly thereafter moving to the Texas panhandle and remaining there until moving back to Erick. While in Erick, Sandy worked as a beautician, having her own shop, until later becoming the Administrative Assistant to the School Superintendent. She remained in this capacity until her retirement in 2007. Sandy and Jim moved to Clinton, Oklahoma in 2011 to be closer to family where she enjoyed camping, researching genealogy, playing piano and spending time with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Kenny Downs.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Jim, of the home; A son, Todd Downs and wife, Stephanie of Clinton, OK. A daughter in law, D'Fawn Downs, of Weatherford, OK; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; A brother, Eddie Kilpatrick of Russell, KS, as well as a host of other much loved family and friends.
