Sandra Joy (Williams) Landrum was born October 6th, 1947 in Killeen, Texas to Gladys Pauline (Graham) Williams and Houston Avis Williams. She passed away Sunday, July 24th, 2022 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 18 days.
Although Sandra Joy grew up in various places across the United States; Sandra was a true Texan and called Austin, Texas her childhood home. Sandra lived in Austin until she moved to Oklahoma City in 1966 to attend a private Christian high school where she met the love of her life, Denny Levi Landrum. Denny, a native of Oklahoma, was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base and worked the switch board. Denny met Sandra by calling and aggravating the girls in Sandra's dorm. the phone was right outside of Sandra's room. They were married May 23rd, 1966 after three dates. They made their home in Oklahoma City where Denny continued to serve in the Air Force. Sandra Joy was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker and her and Denny welcomed their daughter Sandy Denise into the world June of 1967 and their son Guy Levi in September of 1969. The family moved to various places in Oklahoma until settling back in Oklahoma City. During this time Sandra Joy obtained her cosmetology license and did hair with her sister Jeanette at the Beauty Barn. Sandra also became a licensed minister and helped Denny start their prison ministry, Elijah Ministries. Sandra Joy loved spending time with her beloved Denny, going for drives and talking on the phone with her family and friends.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Denny Levi Landrum; one sister, Jeanette Stewart.
Sandra Joy is survived by her 2 children, Denise Barr and husband, Paul, of Elk City, OK and Guy Landrum of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 grandchildren, William Barr and wife, Megan and Sarah Landrum. Sandra is also survived by her sister, Patricia Parvin, of Kansas, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Monday, July 25th, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Fairlawn Cemetery officiated by Dayrl Perry. Arrangements are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals.com
