Ruth Colleen Sewell was born May 3rd, 1938 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Tommy Floyce (Troutt) and James Edsel Stout. She passed away Friday, October 15th, 2021 at her home in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 12 days. Ruth grew up in Elk City where she attended school. She began working for Goldies Cafe where she continued until she was married to Leslie Recil Sewell on September 9th, 1961 in Elk City, Oklahoma. They continued to make their home in Elk City where they raised their family. Ruth had a special place in her heart for children. She kept countless children in her home throughout the years. After Leslie passed in 1977 she focused on raising her family and also taught Sunday school and helped in the nursery. Ruth also volunteered at the Skate Palace and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 sister, Valma West; 5 brothers, Harold Stout, Paul Stout, Noah "Tuffy" Stout, James Stout and Donald Stout. Ruth is survived by her children, Valma Sewell and Tommy Sewell, both of Elk City, OK; numerous nieces and nephews; 2 special friends, Margie Schreck and Darla Morey and a host of other relatives and friends.
