Russell Eugene Winder "Red", "Russ", "Bus" was born August 16, 1930 in South Fork Pennsylvania to William Ernest and Mae Elizabeth (Smith) Winder. He went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2025. He grew up in South Fork and attended public school there. After graduating high school, Russ joined the U.S. Army and served in Okinawa in 1952. Upon being honorably discharged from the army, Russ went to work in the coal mines of Pennsylvania for a short time.

Russ moved to Texas in 1961 and went to work for General Dynamics. Russ met the love of his life Billie Gean in 1968. They married in 1970 and moved to Texas with Billie's two children, Susie and Robert. In 1972, Russ went to work for Texas Instruments (T.I.) and worked there for 14 years until his retirement. Many of the displays found at T.I. were made by Russ to represent the company. They lived in Texas until 1986 and moved to Crawford, OK.

Russ enjoyed living on the ranch and quickly fit in. Russell had countless friends including Danny Harman, Art Tunnecliffe, Don Muegenborg, Chuck Wright, Jackie Allen, Roy Jones, and many others. Russell came to be known by area farmers as an expert in his knowledge and skill as a welder. His shop was a busy place for work during the day and visiting during the evening. There were a few young ones who earned his respect and he gifted them with handmade knives. Russell and Billie were long-time members of the Cheyenne First Methodist Church. Russ will be missed by his many friends and family.

Russ is preceded in death by his wife Billie Winder, parents William and Mae Winder, sister Dorothy Jean Winder, and brother William "Bill" Winder.

He is survived by his children Susan Hurt and husband Daniel and Robert Hammond and his wife Judy; grandchildren Spencer, Eric, Clint, and Garrett; sister Nancy Walters; niece Lynn Saphner; extended family and a host of friends.
