Ronald David "Ronnie" Cooper was born on September 27, 1948 to Wayne and Wilma Lea (Garren) Cooper in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He passed away on March 2, 2025 at the age of 76 years, 5 months, and 3 days.

Ronald grew up and attended school in Bartlesville, OK. He graduated with the class of 1966. After high school Ronald attended Oklahoma State University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. While attending OSU, Ronald met the love of his life Teresa Muncil and to this union two children were born, David and Melissa. While waiting for a position to open up for his degree, Ronald roughnecked for the oilfield in Elk City, OK for one and a half years. He was hired by Loffland Brothers in Odessa, TX and worked as petroleum engineer. Over the years, he worked for multiple oilfield companies and they made there primary home in Elk City. In the late 80s when the oilfield crashed, Ronald went back to school and obtained his masters degree in Math Education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He briefly taught Math at Merritt High school. When the oilfield picked up, he left teaching and began working as a petroleum engineer again. In 2004, Ronald incorporated and became an independent engineer and contracted with many oil companies to finish out his career, and in 2018 he retired.

Ronald liked gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also could always be found tinkering in his shop. He also loved spending time outdoors which included taking walks with Teresa and their dog Taco, and fishing.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Wilma Lea Cooper.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Teresa Cooper of Elk City, OK; son David Wayne Cooper of Broken Arrow, OK and his children, Dalton Cooper and wife Taylor of Elk City, OK, and Emily Cooper of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter Melissa Cooper-Addison of Tulsa, OK and her children Drake DeWitt of Austin, TX and Daelyn DeWitt of Tulsa, OK; great grandchildren Riggins Cooper and Charlette Cooper both of Elk City, OK; brother Gary Cooper and wife Linda of Bartlesville, OK; bonus family Jessica Bare, Bill, Samantha, Angelina; and Isabella Helton, and Michael Carmona; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
