Ronnie Leo Browning was born January 19th, 1944 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Marcella Agnus (Kirk) and Leo Browning. He passed away at his home near Canute, Oklahoma on Friday, February 20th, 2026 at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 1 day.

Ronnie grew up on the family farm north of Canute, Oklahoma. He attended Holy Family Schools through the 10th grade and later graduated from Canute High School as Valedictorian. During his time in high school he participated in sporting activities, but his primary focus was agriculture and FFA showing shorthorn cattle. His senior year in high school he was awarded the Junior Master Farmer Award by the state FFA Association. In 1963 he furthered his education at Southwestern State College where he received his bachelors with an emphasis in biology. In 1967 he was married to Linda Carrol (Britton) at St. Joesph's Catholic Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Together they made their home in Canute, Oklahoma while Ronnie commuted back and forth to college. After graduation, he and his brother owned and operated Western Produce and Garden Center in Elk City. In 1974 Ronnie and Linda purchased their first farm south of Canute as Ronnie managed an oil field company running pickup and lay down machines. Ronnie later worked with his brother for Sayre Crop Service for 40 years. Ronnie never formally retired it was only his health and age that made him quit. Ronnie valiantly and courageously fought a 25 year battle with cancer and in what little spare time he had enjoyed traveling to Colorado, fishing, and spending as much time as possible with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son, David Leo Browning;

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; son, Mark Browning, Canute, OK; one granddaughter, Celeina Browning, Mustang, OK; one brother, Larry Browning and wife, Pat, Elk City, OK; 2 sisters, Sharon Estes and husband, Donnie, Canute, OK and LaDonna Dupre, Marrero, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ronnie's good friend and neighbor, Rex Finnell who continued to take him to the Elk City sale barn every friday for the past year so he could continue his cattle operation.
