Robert "Oran" Lister III was born in Shamrock, Texas on June 4, 1958, to Allie Marie (Hobbs) and Robert Oran Lister Jr. He passed away on February 2, 2025, at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 66.

Oran was raised in Sayre, Oklahoma, where he graduated from high school in 1976. He was self-employed for most of his life and valued his independence. Stubborn and sharp-tongued, he never hesitated to speak his mind—traits that often set him apart from others. Though his journey was not an easy one, Oran remained unapologetically himself. His passing marks the end of a life defined by determination and resilience. May he now find the peace and understanding that eluded him in life, resting in the presence of the Lord.

Oran is survived by his sons, Tyler Lister (Crystal) of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Bryan Lister (Chaunda) of Kingston, Oklahoma; as well as his grandchildren, Jaxon, Lennon, Gavyn, John, Malia, and Boen. He also leaves behind his sister, Cynthia Caldwell (Martin) of Altus, Oklahoma, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Oran was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Robert "Red" Lister, and his sister, Linda Lister.
