Robert Roy Robinson, 72, of Hydro, Oklahoma, entered eternal rest on April 6, 2024, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was born on May 20, 1951, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of George Leroy "Roy" and Oda Faye (Deyoe) Robinson.
Bob grew up on a farm outside of Ulysses, Kansas where he learned lifelong skills of self-reliance, perseverance, and hard work. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1969. He farmed in his early adult life and later worked in the oil and gas industry in Oklahoma, working for Hamm & Phillips in Thomas & Elk City, OK and later retiring from Ventura Refinery where he had been the sales manager. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and NHRA. He enjoyed racing stock cars and was able to attend NHRA drag races several times in Topeka, Kansas. He loved working in his shop, garden and yard and spending time with family and friends. He was a jokester and always enjoyed having a good time! Bob took pride in having the hottest cars around – his last being a bright yellow 2012 Camaro.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jimi; sons B.J. Robinson and Jack Osben; daughter Jessica Putman; brother Tom Robinson and wife, Nancy; sister Deb McGlohon and husband, Pat; grandchildren Brooklyn, Raelynn, Breňa Faye, & Simon Robinson, and Hailey & Evan Putman; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Bob is preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Robinson; parents Roy & Faye Robinson; grandparents Earl & Ruby Erma Robinson and Otis & Winnifred Deyoe; son-in-law Gene Putman, and nephew Kelly Robinson.
Memorial service will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the New Life Church in Hydro, Oklahoma with pastor Mark Lumpkin officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Grant County Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas.
