Ridge Lynn LaMar was born on September 22, 1948, to Wynona and Clyde LaMar in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Ridge went to Farmington Public Schools in Farmington, New Mexico, and graduated from high school in 1966. After that, he went to the University of New Mexico, where he got a Bachelor's degree in finance in 1970.

After he graduated from The University's varsity of New Mexico, Ridge joined his father Clyde LaMar in the growing oil and gas business in Wyoming.

Ridge really loved Farmington, where he played baseball from Little League to Connie Mack. He was on a Connie Mack World Series-winning team in 1966. Baseball was still a big part of his life; he played softball and coached softball for many years in Elk City, Oklahoma. He was a big fan of the New York Yankees from when he was little.

Even when he was older, he always made sure to watch his games.

Ridge was into lots of sports throughout his life, like softball, racquetball, and anything with a ball. He ran 25-mile marathons when he was younger. He said his mom, Wynona, was his first coach, not his dad. But his dad, Clyde, coached some of the teams he played for later on.

From a young age, Ridge was captivated by horses, and his father encouraged his children to love and care for them. Ridge enjoyed riding, racing, and just having fun on the horse. He also had a deep love for ranching, especially with his dear second mother, Lorene Mackenzie, who gifted him her "Maranatha," a beautiful ranch established in 1910, nestled by the North Fork of the Red River. Throughout his life, Ridge LaMar always looked for ways to share his faith in Jesus Christ, and the ranch provided the perfect setting for a Bed and Breakfast Retreat for Ministers, Missionaries, and other church groups!

Ridge felt a strong calling to dedicate the rest of his life to honoring his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He dreamed of becoming a "Man of God." When he moved to Carter, Oklahoma, close to his mother, Wynona, Ridge became the Pastor at First Love Church in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Ridge also worked as a Hospice Chaplin in Western Oklahoma and as a Chaplin and counselor at the local prison.

Ridge La Mar was preceded in death by his Mother Wynona La Mar Day, of Carter, Oklahoma. His Father: Clyde La Mar of Texas.

His dearest second mother and dearest friend Lorene Mackenzie of Carter, Oklahoma.

Ridge is survived by his lifelong friend and devoted wife, Montana Cay McClelland La Mar, of Sayre, Oklahoma.

His only son, Tymon LaMar, lives in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Ridge is also survived by his sisters, Cheryl Miller VonRiesen and Candace Parker, both from Kingston, Oklahoma.

Ridge is also remembered by his nephews, Jim Miller, who lives in Monument, Colorado, and Joshua Miller, who resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He is also survived by his nieces: Angie Fite, who lives in Elk City, Oklahoma; Brandy Mendel, who lives in Royal, Oklahoma; and Mindy Scoville, who lives in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Ridge was known for having a huge circle of friends, from his early school days through junior high and high school, and even into his time at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He really valued his friendships and always tried to stay in touch with them.

One of his favorite things to do was share his faith in Jesus Christ with his childhood friends and others, and he would even baptize them. In the last days of his life, many of these friends came to visit him while he was in the hospital at Integris Southwest in Oklahoma City, sharing happy memories.

This gave him a chance to remind himself of his strong faith in Jesus Christ.

Ridge will be remembered in a service that will be held on Maranatha on the River Ranch later in July, at his home on "Maranatha on the River Ranch."
