Obituary

Ricky Don Adams was born October 31st, 1954 in Olton, Texas to Ola Mae (Mauldin) Adams. He passed away Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 22 days.

Rick, known to many as "Papa", grew up in Colony, Oklahoma and attended school at Washita Heights. He graduated in 1972 and was later married to Shirley Rhoads and to this union 2 children were born, Robby Don and Stephanie Lynn. Throughout the next five years Rick worked at 3M in Weatherford, Oklahoma. After their marriage dissolved, he met Robin (Luekenga) at a Christmas party in 1980 and they were later married in Vernon, Texas on October 28th, 1983. After their marriage they moved to Colony, Oklahoma where they had their two children, Ericka Ann and Cody Michael. Rick began working at the Eakly Farmers Coop until 1996 when they moved to Burkburnett, Texas. Rick managed the Farmers Coops in Burkburnett and Grandfield until his retirement in 2008. Rick and Robin moved to Canute, Oklahoma to be near their family. Rick, being one that couldn't sit still, returned to the oil field on a coil tubing crew for QES. He remained in the oil field until 2020 when he retired for the second time. Besides spending time with his family and friends, he devoted the majority of his time to his grandchildren and making sure he was present at any and all sporting events.

He is preceded in death by his mother; daughter, Stephanie Morrow and one brother, Tony Adams.

Rick is survived by his wife, Robin, of the home; 3 children, Robby Adams and wife, Tonya, Weatherford, OK, Ericka Schuster and husband, Steven, Canute, OK, and Cody Adams and wife, Jennifer, Grove, OK; 11 grandchildren, Emilee, Dillon, Kendall, Reid, Rylee, Annie, June, Eva, Mac, Remi, and Hank; 3 brothers, Randy Adams and wife, Mary, Canute, OK, Ron Adams, Weatherford, OK, and Terry Adams and wife, Karen, Mesquite, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family has opted to continue with the Rick Adams Benefit on Friday, October 28th, 2022 at 5:30 PM at the Blackmore Edition as a community gathering to give everyone the opportunity to share stories and memories of Papa.
