Obituary

Richard Joe Moody was born on October 21, 1959 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Grover Joe and iola Alice (Horst) Moody and passed away May 6, 2022 at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Rick spent most of his youth growing up in Oklahoma alongside his older sister, Lana. Rick graduated from C.E. Donart High School in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1978. Soon after, Rick began a lifelong career working in both law enforcement and corrections. Over the years he worked for Corrections Corporation of America, the Beckham County Sheriff's Office and most recently, the Roger Mills County Sheriff's Office. On May 8, 2004 he married Lisa Ilene (Ezzell) White in Cordell, Oklahoma and he also became a (step) father to Trevor Charles White and Lauren Evelyn White who he loved and cared for as his very own children. After their marriage, Rick, Lisa and their family eventually moved to the Ezzell Family Farm South of Sayre where they were residing at the time of his death. Rick loved and enjoyed spending time with family and he absolutely loved and adored his grandchildren. Rick was a 32nd Degree Mason at the Sayre Masonic Lodge #195 and was a Shriner Ambassador who was currently serving as the Captain of the WOWCASS Shriner's Unit. Rick never met a stranger and, once he was your friend, you had a friend for life. There were two things that Rick could not be outmatched on, his loyalty to his family and friends, and his BBQ cooking. He considered Lisa's family and extended family as his very own family and he would have done anything that he possibly could have done for any of them. Rick was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his parents, his sister Lana Moody Olds and his mother in law Lynda Ezzell. He is survived by his wife Lisa, his son Trevor White of Sayre, Oklahoma, his daughter Lauren (White) Sandoval of Sweetwater, Oklahoma and his precious grandchildren Kortlee, Korbin, Kordell and Lexi of Sweetwater, Oklahoma. His father in law, Robert Ezzell of Sayre, Oklahoma. His three brothers in law and their families, Rob Ezzell, and wife, Rebekka of Yukon, Oklahoma, Brad Ezzell, and wife, Vicki of Fort Worth, Texas and Jon Ezzell, and wife, Erin of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, longtime friend Bryan Lambert, who he considered as his brother, his wife, Amy, and their family, and numerous other extended family members and friends.
