Richard New was born March 23rd, 1939 in Kerr County, California to Thelma (Richards) and Delbert New. He passed away at Sayre, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 16th, 2022 at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 23 days. Richard spent his childhood in California and moved with his parents at the age of 12 to Oklahoma. He helped his father on the farm and also was a laborer helping build cotton gin's in the area. In the early to mid 60's he went to work for Northfork Electric as a lineman and continued until and accident forced him to find other work. In the early 70's he purchased a trucking company, Kwik Tran, a hotshot company. He continued to operate it until his retirement. Throughout his retirement he enjoyed farming, fishing, tinkering with projects and spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers. Richard is survived by 2 children, Roy Don New and companion, Alta McGinnis, Clinton, OK and Nicole New, Elk City, OK; 3 grandchildren, Myriah Davis, Aubree Hooper, and Bill Hooper; 2 brothers, Don and Jerry New and a host of other relatives and friends.
