Raymond Loyd Jackson was born November 1st, 1946 in Pike, Oklahoma to Loyd and Velma Jackson. He passed away Thursday, September 8th, 2022 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 7 days.

Raymond moved to Elk City with his dad and beloved step-mother Delphia Jackson in his teen years. He worked in the oil field and graduated at Elk City. He was inducted into the United States Army on August 29th, 1966 and was deployed to Vietnam. During his time of service he received a purple heart when he was shot in the thigh and he received his second purple heart when he stepped on a land mine, a week before his scheduled discharge. During recovery at Ft. Sill he met and was later married to Marcia Carole (Stricklen) at Wheeler, Texas on June 13th, 1969. After their marriage they made Elk City their home while Raymond worked in the oil field and also owned and operated Wildhorse Pipe Services. In 1984, after his second amputation, he retired and enjoyed fishing, gardening and exercising his green thumb, and going to the lake with his family. In his younger years he also enjoyed riding motorcycles. Raymond was a member of the local DAV and Grandview Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; 3 brothers, R.A. Jackson, Curtis Ray Jackson, and Fred Bearden; 1 step-brother, James Busby;1 step-sister, Paula Miller, and 1 daughter-in-law, Shonda Hutson.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Carole, of the home; 2 children, Angela Patton and soul mate, Dee McDonald, and Shannon Jackson, both of Elk City, OK; 7 grandchildren, Chayce Jackson, Hope Jackson, Braxton Patton, Dalton Patton and wife, Kirsten, Tatum Ferguson, Tyson Rose, and Courtney Montrose; bonus grandchildren, Cameron Marcum and wife, Brianna, Nikyla Smith and husband, Conner, and Jaden Marcum, all of Elk City, OK; 2 sisters, Debra Carver and husband, Bryan, and Brenda Kay Taylor and soul mate, Fred; 1 brother, Jackie Dale Jackson; 1 step-sister, Janet Burk; 1 uncle, Gene Jackson and a host of other relatives and friends.
