Raymond "Ray" Junir Smith was born on September 11, 1942 to Raymond Theodore and Ila Marie (Frost) Smith in Miami, OK. He passed on November 15, 2025 at the age of 83 years, 2 months, and 4 days.
Ray grew up with his six siblings in Miami, OK. He attended school until his junior year and went straight into the United States Navy on December 28, 1960.On July 5, 1962, he was honorably discharged due to injuries from a truck accident.
In September of 1962, Ray married Judith and had one daughter Susan Marie. In October 0f 1970, he married Deborah Maudanna Smith. The family grew with the addition of her four children and their daughter Dee Dee. Deborah passed on September 27, 1983 and on January 18, 1984 he married Marjorie Ellen King and they made their home in Elk City, OK.
Ray worked in the oil field all of his life. He worked for Baker and Taylor, Bracken Oil, H&P and several other companies. He worked his way from the bottom all the way up to consultant. Ray loved riding motorcycles, fishing, and woodworking. He also loved animals.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Deborah Smith and second wife Marjorie Smith, parents Raymond and Ila Smith, two sons Bruce Widrix and Doug King, two grandsons Derrik Davis and Andy Janes, great granddaughter Shyann Walker, son-in-law Mike Elliott, one sister and three brothers.
Ray is survived by his children Dee Dee Brown and her husband David from Enid, OK; Dale Wildrix and wife Stephanie of Enid, OK, LeAnna Brewer and husband Larry of Marlow, OK, Jeff Wildrix and wife Jeanne of Fairview, OK, Linda Gayle Elliott of Elk City, OK, Patty Walker and Shawn Batenhorst of Canadian, TX; grandchildren Lauren Garrison, Lindsey Jones, Lacey Nunnally, Tod Davis, Blake Davis, Cheyanna George, Jeffrey Wildrix Jr., Aimee Poe, Alycia Severson, Barbie Grace, Beau Wildrix, Kylea Wildrix, Trent Holbert, Melissa Curbo, Rachel Smith, Chad Walker, Justin King, Jerrod King, Cody Elliott, Kerri Smith, Casey Elliott, Kristen Burks, Ty Curbo, Miles Curbo, Emerson Smith, Collins Smith, Kip Smith, Hadley Elliott, Hudson Elliott and James Cagle; many great grandchildren; two sisters; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
