Randy Vaughn Patten was born on July 18, 1953 to Johnny and Imogene (Mayfield) Patten in Sayre, OK. He passed on July 4, 2025 at the age of 71 years, 11 months, and 16 days.
Randy was raised in the Willow and Spring Creek Community along with his one sister Karen. He attended school in Carter and graduated with the class of 1972. On March 10, 1973, Randy married the love of his life, Sonya Griffis, in Willow, OK and to this union two children were born Tori and Tanner. Randy spent most of his life farming and ranching on his family farm. He took over his family farm in 1972 and raised cattle, peanuts, and rye. He farmed up until his passing and never even thought of retiring.
He served for the Willow Voluntary Fire Department for over 50 years and served as Chief for 30 of those 50 years. Randy was known as the local weatherman and was constantly watching and informing everyone of the pending storms. He was known as a stubborn, strong headed, and hardworking man but also very gentle and loving when he needed to be. Randy had a very big heart and if anyone was in need, he was always there to help. He loved his community in Willow and was looked upon for his advice. Randy was found mostly working on the farm, but when he wasn't working he could be found watching westerns especially Gunsmoke.
