Obituary

Rex Randall Cutburth (Randy) was born March 13th, 1955 in Salinas, CA to Montella Rose Edgmon (Vandiver) & Eddie Fae Cutburth. He passed away at his home in Burns Flat on February 23rd, 2026 at the age of 70 years old.

Randy was born in California but soon moved to Harrison, Arkansas, where he would grow up and attend high school. He played sports, worked on the family farm, and enjoyed working with leather and wood. He graduated from Harrison High School, home of the Golden Goblins, in 1973. He married Hazel Lois Cutburth (Cook) in November of 1978, and they traveled all over the country working on airport runways and different rig sites. He mostly worked as a driller in the oil & gas industry for Loffland Brothers, where he was injured and had to retire early. Before his accident Randy worked on rebuilding cars and tinkering with almost anything. He loved wood working and always had a talent for drawing & painting.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Grandfather (Gramps) Robert Houston Vandiver & Grandmother Dale Vandiver, his Mother Montella Edgmon, his Father Eddie Cutburth, his Aunt Joyce Rogers (Vandiver), and step-son Roger Roland.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Cutburth of the home; son, John Jech,Harrison, AR; daughter, Randi Yow and husband Eric, Elk City, OK; Step-Daughter, Nancy Lair and husband Monty, Aurora, OR; Brother, Vance Cutburth and wife Connie, Harrison AR; Brothers, Eddie Cutburth, Nathan Cutburth, and Zach Cutburth; Nephews & Nieces, Tina Stanphill, Emma Louden, Edward Cutburth, Shawn Cutburth, Anthony Dement, Amy Dulock, and Ann Gleaton; Grandchildren, Kim, Lynsey, Ryan, and Caleb; and a host of great-grandchildren and cousins.

No memorial service is planned at this time.
