Quincy D. (Buddy) Merrifield was born on July 29, 1936 in Doxey, OK to Quincy C. and Bonnie A.(Vermillion) Merrified. He passed away unexpectedly at his home in Sayre, OK on November 18, 2024, at the age of 88 years, 3 months, and 20 days.

Buddy graduated from Sayre High School and went on to study at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He then served in the United States Navy, American Red Cross and The Coast Guard. Buddy moved to El Paso, TX, and there he met and married Maria C. (Molinar) Merrifield of Deming, NM. They ended up settling in Sayre, OK, in 1978. After making their home in Sayre, he began working for The Department of Human Services, where he stayed for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Maria Merrifield, son, David A. Merrifield and sister, Bonnie Donaldson.

Buddy is survived by his children, Marisa Curry, of Sayre, OK, Chris and Tonya Merrifield, McAlester, OK, and Noel and Cacy Merrifield, Yukon, OK, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
