Phyllis Jean Potter was born September 29th, 1958 on the United States Air Force base in Amarillo, Texas to Jewel Ruth (Riley) and James Hugh Amberson. She passed away at her home in Erick, Oklahoma on Monday, March 3rd, 2025 at the age of 66 years, 5 months and 3 days.

Phyllis spent her childhood in the Amarillo and Canyon, Texas areas. She attended school in Erick, Oklahoma and began her family with the birth of her son in 1977. Throughout the years she added 4 children to her family. Phyllis provided for her family by way of being a homemaker and moved to eastern Oklahoma where she found employment at various places including OAI Electronics in Hartshorne, Oklahoma. In 2012 she moved to Scenic, Arizona where she worked at CasaBlanca Resort and Casino in Mesquite, Nevada. She began her career at the casino as an floor attendant and worked her way up to a floor manager and supervisor. In 2022, Phyllis made the decision to return to Oklahoma to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was also known to push essential oils and explain the benefits to anyone that would listen.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Amanda Jean Sanderson; infant grandson, Chance Durrough; and one brother, Gerald Keith Womack.

Phyllis is survived by her 3 children, Jerry Sanderson and companion, Nicole, McAlester, OK, Amy Sanderson and husband, Marcos, Erick, OK, and Travis Hatter, Las Vegas, NV; 11 grandchildren, Hayven, Payton, Camryn, Ashlynn, Koltyn, Chayton, Kylan, Braylen, Raygen, Aralyn, and Marcella; 1 great grandchild; 5 brothers, Mike Amberson, Dana Amberson, Jimmy Womack and wife, LaJettie, Robert Womack and wife, Tina, and Billy Womack and wife, Heather and a host of other relatives and friends.
