Pedro Leal Esparza was born September 19th, 1963 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Lola (Leal) and Placido Esparza. He passed away in Altus, Oklahoma on August 15th, 2024 at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 27 days.

Pedro, known by most as "Pete", grew up in the Mangum and Granite, Oklahoma areas and spent his school years at Mangum, Oklahoma. Pete moved to Vernon, Texas where he began his family and fathered 6 children provided for them by working in the area. In 1986 he moved to Pleasanton, Texas and met his wife and they continued to make their home there and raise their family. It wasn't until 1993 he moved his family to Granite, Oklahoma where they made their life and Pete worked at the cotton gin. In 2007 Pete moved to Altus, Oklahoma where he was currently employed and spent the remaining years of his life. Pete was a handyman and could complete any task placed in front of him and his work ethic was second to none.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his long time companion, Donna Lobaugh; 2 sisters, Mary Gonzalez, and Patty Martinez; and 2 brothers, Placido "Shorty" Esparza, and Martin Esparza.

Pete is survived by 6 children, Greg Martinez, Mike Martinez, Wynter Dawn Esparza, P.J. Esparza, Tanya Floyd, and Jason Esparza; 33 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; 1 great grandchild on the way; 4 siblings, Victor Esparza, Tom Esparza, Mary Lou Orosco, and Greg Esparza and a host of other relatives and friends.
