Patrick Cleveland Welsh was born May 30th, 1954 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Bonnie Jo (Wilson) and Kenneth Gene Welsh. He passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at the age of 71 years, 11 months, and 9 days.
Patrick, known by many as "Pat", grew up traveling around following his father's employment in the oil and natural gas industry as a mud engineer. He spent the majority of his high school years in Weatherford, Oklahoma where he graduated in 1972. After graduation, he began his family and later began following his dream of being a nurse by becoming an LPN working with the veterans at the Clinton VA Center, Great Plains Regional Medical Center, and also the CCA prison. It was during this time he was married to Lisa Ann (Kamphaus) in Elk City, Oklahoma on January 24th, 1992. They made their home in Canute, Oklahoma where he furthered his career by becoming a registered nurse in 2004. Pat worked for a couple different hospice companies before finding his calling with Comforting Hands Hospice in Elk City, Oklahoma. He spent the next 11 years with them until May of 2024 when he formally retired.
In what little spare time he had, Pat somehow found time to referee sporting activities, golfing, fishing, as well as being a member of the JC's club in Weatherford, Oklahoma. More recently he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, Lion's Club, and a member of the St. Matthew Catholic Church. Besides his faith, Pat was passionate about his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mike Welsh.
Pat is survived by his wife, Lisa, of the home; 2 sons, Jeremy Welsh, Sweetwater, OK and Jarrod Welsh and wife, Trish, Weatherford, OK; 6 grandchildren, Brandon Turney and husband, Stevin, Erica Adams and husband, Brett, Jacoby Welsh, Symphony Welsh, Jonah Welsh, and Arwen Welsh; 1 great grandson, Keith Cornell; sisters-in-law, Lana Merz and husband, Kevin and Lara Langley and husband, Kevin; 2 nephews, Nathan and Kyle Merz and their families; special friends, Janey Pease as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.
