Monroe Allen Page was born March 14th, 1944 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Lela Mae (Allen) and Dana Kelsey Page. He passed away Sunday, July 31st, 2022 at his and his son's home west of Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 4 months, and 17 days. Monroe grew up in Wheeler, Texas where he attended school. He graduated as part of the Wheeler High School class of 1962. During his senior year he was married to Melinda Kay Callan on April 21st, 1962. They made their home in the Wheeler, Texas community where he began working for Bell Helicopter. Monroe started his career in the oil and natural gas industry with H&P Drilling and shortly thereafter found employment with Loffland Brothers Drilling in 1969. It was with Loffland Brothers that Monroe found himself as part of the crew that drilled the deepest well and was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records along with making many lifelong friends that he stayed in contact with throughout the years. In 1970, Monroe moved his family to Elk City where he continued with Loffland Brothers for 20 plus years. After leaving Loffland Brothers, Monroe remained in the oil industry working for Coral's as a tool pusher and was a self employed consultant with DMIC Petroleum Consulting. He retired in 2012 and enjoyed spending time on the family farm raising chickens and tending to horses. He cherished his time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rita Gilchrest, Ellen Gilchrest, Betty Knatcher, and Carolyn Castleman; one grandson, Zac Pipes, 2 great granddaughters, Paisley and Penelope. Monroe is survived by 2 daughters, Teresa Watts and husband, Jerry, Wheeler, Texas and Tammie Jones and husband, Garry, Elk City, OK; 1 son, Dana Page, Elk City, OK; 2 bonus children, Stephanie Deal and husband, Dustin and Kellie Randall and husband, John; his grandchildren, Chandra Boyd, Evan Watts and wife, Veronica, Rickey Pipes, Victoria Pipes, Chance Page and wife, Chelsie, Tori Clinesmith and husband, Lariat, and Brice Swaim and wife, Jesse; 1 bonus grandson, Cash Deal; great grandchildren, Braden, Jagger, Emma, Ellie, Eli, Katelynn, Kaci, Raithe, Zackary, Zayden, Zander, LaikLynn, AJ, Layton, Zaylie, Taysom, and Kennedy; 1 great great grandchild Asher Watson; sister Judy Vanpool and husband Terry, and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5th, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Fairlawn Cemetery Chapel officiated by Katherine Brown.
