Mickie Ann Knight-Taylor was born on September 12, 1944 to William M. and Hazel Opal (Rives) Cast in Duncan, OK. She passed on February 19, 2025 in Elk City, OK at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 7 days.
Mickie grew up and attended schools in Hollis, OK. On January 26, 1962 in Childress, TX she married Jimmy Knight and to this union three children were born Jimmy, Scotty, Kelly. They made their home in Sayre, OK. She worked for the Oklahoma Publishing Company and delivered two papers a day, the Daily Oklahoman and Oklahoma Times. Mickie and Jimmy purchased multiple businesses including APCO gas station, Tom's distributing, and several laundromats, which they ran together for many years. After Jimmy passed, Mickie married Ray Taylor on March 27, 1995. They made their home in Hollis, OK where they owned and operated a Dairy Queen. They moved to Mangum and owned and operated a laundromat and delivered the Daily Oklahoman. After Ray passed, Mickie moved back to Sayre and worked in the laundromat until she retired.
In her spare time, Mickie collected figurine porcelain glassware, such as Andrea birds and dolls. She liked sports cars and her favorite car to own was a 1979 fire red corvette. She was well known for her attention to detail and always kept a well organized house.
She is preceded in death by her husbands Jimmy Knight and Ray Taylor, son Jimmy W. Knight, her parents William and Hazel Cast, four brothers Billy, Ronald, Jacky, and Freddy Cast and his wife June, and one sister Meryl Page and her husband Bill.
Mickie is survived by her children Scotty Knight and wife Mona of Ponca City, OK and Kelly Putman and husband Ronald of Elk City, OK; six grandchildren Jimmy Knight of Tuttle, OK, Kassey Eden and husband Pat of Martha, OK, Roni Thomas and husband Bobby of Canute, OK, Rachel Putman of Elk City, OK; Maleah Oliver and husband Cody of Broken Arrow, OK, and Justin Dyer of Tulsa, OK 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
