Michael Bohannon, 74, of Sayre, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on December 15, 2024, surrounded by love.

Mike was born on February 11, 1950, to J.C. and Nadine (Skinner) Bohannon. He grew up in Sayre, where he graduated from Sayre High School in 1968. Shortly after, he honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972. Mike was a lifelong member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Sayre, a faith that deeply guided his life.

On December 11, 1973, Mike married Chesta Teakell, and together they raised two children, Jason Chet and Jyl Lyn. Mike dedicated 43 years of his career to CenterPoint Energy before retiring and continuing his work at Lucky Star Casino in Hammon, OK, where he formed many cherished friendships. On January 17, 2008, Mike married DonNelle Adkisson, with whom he shared a loving partnership.

Mike was known for his love of working, his sharp wit, and the joy he found in his family, especially his grandsons. Whether he was visiting with friends, tending to his cows, or doting on his nieces and nephews, he approached life with humor and a kind heart.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Nadine; his brothers, Johnny and James; and his bonus daughter, Amy. He is survived by his beloved wife, DonNelle, of the home; his children, Jason Bohannon (Kristen) and Jyl Bohannon, both of Sayre, OK; his sister, Billie Cook, and her husband, Earl, of Sayre; and his grandchildren, Jayson Cody Bryant and Crew Walter Dean Bohannon, also of Sayre. He is also survived by his bonus children, Adrian, Justin, and Arthur Adkisson, his mother-in-law, Donna Garlick, and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Mike's life will be remembered for the love he shared, the friendships he nurtured, and the legacy he leaves behind in those who knew him.
