Obituary

Mary "Meme" Isabell Patterson was born November 30th, 1932 in Cato County, Oklahoma near Cogar, Oklahoma to Ruth Ester (Carlisle) and John Henry Cobb. She passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024 at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 21 days.

Mary moved with her family as a young girl to Durham, Oklahoma where they remained for 9 years. The family moved back to Cogar, Oklahoma where she graduated from Binger High School in 1949 at the age of 17. After graduation she found employment and worked to help make ends meet for her family. She met a gentleman by the name of Harold Wayne Patterson by chance and their relationship grew until their marriage on November 5th, 1952. Together they made their home in Sayre, Oklahoma where she found employment at the local banks first as a teller and then later on as an accountant. After Mary retired from the banking industry she along with a friend opened an upholstery business recovering couches, chairs, vehicles, and anything that needed to be repurposed. After her second retirement, Mary spent the majority of her time passing out Bibles and spreading the gospel to anyone that would listen. She also enjoyed painting, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 daughter, Mary Jean; 1 son, Toby Harold; 1 sister, Ellen Farber; and 1 brother, Eddie Cobb.

Mary is survived by her 1 son, Tony Wayne Patterson and wife, Kay, Sayre, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Samantha Cain and husband, Jake, and Joshua Harold Patterson and wife, Nikki; 3 great grandchildren, Aliya Bowdoin, Brooklyn Bowdoin, and Rhoegyn Patterson; 2 sisters, Elsie Rumley, and Sadie Hornsby and a host of other relatives and friends.
