Mary Lillian Lynch was born on June 17, 1948 to James and Catherine (Spicer) Groome in Philadelphia, PA. She passed on August 4, 2026 at the age of 78 years, 1 month, and 18 days.

Mary grew up in Philadelphia as the second youngest of her four siblings Jimmy, Jerry, Gregory and Peggy. She attended school at Cardinal Dougherty and played high school softball. She graduated with the class of 1966.

In 1968, Mary moved to Newark, DE with her husband, Ron Lynch, and raised her three children Theresa, Charlie, and Eric. After seven years Ron and Mary divorced. She worked at the Bank of Delaware managing the business accounts of the vendors in Delaware. In 2018, Mary made her home in Cheyenne, OK to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and grandsons.

Mary was a major sports fan. Her teams were the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. She could tell you anything and everything about those two teams and would never miss a game on TV. Mary enjoyed making diamond art and going to the Cheyenne swimming pool. She loved her family and spending time with them which included her dog Teagen and cat Anthony. Her favorite time of the year was Super Bowl time. She would attend the annual Super Bowl party at Theresa and Greg's house and was known to have a friendly rivalry with Thomas. Her faith was strong and she would continually pray to St Anthony to help others in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Catherine Groome, two brothers Jimmy and Jerry Groome, and her beloved dog Teagen.

Mary is survived by her daughter Theresa Barker and husband Greg of Durham, OK, two sons Charlie Lynch of Newark, DE and Eric Lynch of Partlow, VA; grandchildren Sam Barker and girlfriend Rebecca Shorter, Jacob Barker and girlfriend Macy Perkins, Maddie Lynch, Zeke Lynch, Kara Lynch; great grandchildren Blakely Perkins and Bentley Perkins; brother Gregory Groome and wife Glenda of Topping, VA; sister Peggy Capozzoli and husband Carlo of Upper Chichester, PA; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
