Mark Anthony Yost was born September 4th, 1956, in Hays, Kansas to Naida Lou (Heath) and Robert Michael Yost. He passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the age of 66 years.

Mark spent some of his childhood in Russell, Kansas, and moved with his family to Pampa, Texas where he attended school and graduated in 1974.  After graduation, he moved to Amarillo, Texas where he attended college to further his education.

Later he was transferred to Roswell, New Mexico where he managed the Hastings Books and Records store. He discovered his love for books and music and his future wife there. On May 19, 1979, he and Letha Marie (Bernard) married in Roswell and remained there for some time before moving back to Amarillo.

In the early 80's with the rise of the oil industry, Mark began working for his brother-in-law at Caswell Construction where he managed the asphalt side of the business. Mark continued working for Caswell Construction up until the present.

In his spare time, Mark enjoyed listening to music, social time with friends, countless hours with his family, sunsets, and most of all popcorn and ice cream with his grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2023, at Saint Matthew's Catholic Church in Elk City, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Naida Yost and baby sister, Mary Andrea Yost.

Mark is survived by his wife, Letha, of the home; two sons, Matt Yost and wife, Heather, Yukon, OK, and Luke Yost and wife, Kelci, Jones, OK; six grandchildren, Jackson, Jett, Jase, Ellie, Ozzie, Lenni, and one grandchild on the way; two sisters, Mickie Caswell and husband, Wayne, Mary Dumler and husband, Jim and a host of relatives and close friends.

Mark will be remembered for his kindness, his love for life, and his contagious smile.
