Marilyn Kay Kamphaus, 74, of Burns Flat, OK, passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City, OK, on May 14,  2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 26, 1951, in Elk City, OK, to the late Leona (Strobel) Beck and the late Carl Beck.

Marilyn attended Merritt Public Schools and graduated in 1970.  After graduation, she married the love of her life, Larry Kamphaus, on January 25, 1972, in Elk City. To this union, two children were born, Jerry Don and Miranda. They resided and spent the majority of their married life on their farm north of Burns Flat. Marilyn dedicated her life to helping with farming duties and raising their children. Marilyn and Larry shared 54 wonderful years together.

Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was centered around family, hard work, and simple joys. Her work ethic started at a very young age. Her capabilities were endless. She was diligent in everything she did or attempted. Whether working on the farm or helping family at the car wash, Marilyn could outwork anyone. She was also known for her warm smile and the happiness she felt whenever her children or friends came to visit. She will also be remembered for her love of cooking. Her family meant everything to her, especially her beloved grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life.

Marilyn enjoyed gardening, sitting on the porch, fishing, crocheting, and spending quiet evenings working on crafts. She also dearly loved her dog, Mater, who was always close by her side. Her strength, determination, and willingness to help others were qualities admired by everyone who knew her. Finally, her faith in the Lord was evident in everything she did or faced in sickness and in health.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry, of the home; her children, Jerry Don Kamphaus and his partner, Laura Webb, Burns Flat, OK, Miranda Scott and husband, Jared, Elk City, OK; five grandchildren that she adored, Jayden and Landen Kamphaus, Presleigh, Christopher, and Conner Jay; one brother, Gary Beck and wife, Renee, Amarillo, TX; one sister-in-law, Rhonda Belcher and husband, Larry, Elk City, OK, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Leona, her in-laws, Charles and Luella Kamphaus, her brother, Larry Beck, and her daughter-in-law, Sumer Kamphaus.

Marilyn will be remembered for her loving heart, hardworking spirit, and the kindness she shared so freely with others. She leaves behind treasured memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
