Marianne (Snodgrass)
Greer
Oct 16, 1958 — Dec 9, 2025
Marianne (Snodgrass) Greer was born in Morgantown, Kentucky on October 16, 1958, the sixth of ten children born to William Ralph and Emma Rose (Stewart) Snodgrass. God called her back to his Heavenly home on December 9, 2025 at the age of 67 years, 1 month, and 23 days.
The family moved to Burbank, Ohio when Marianne was six months old and she had her sixth birthday in Smithville, Ohio where she began attending elementary school. In the fall of 1968, the family moved to Erick, Oklahoma where Marianne had her tenth birthday and started fourth grade in Erick Elementary School. She played basketball from the fifth grade through the twelfth grade. She and her fellow Lady Bearcats won the Class B State Championship in Basketball her senior year. She participated in many extra-curricular activities throughout her school years and worked at the Boom Restaurant before she graduated from Erick High School in 1977.
On New Year's Eve of 1976, she went on her first date with James Greer and they wed in Lockett, Texas on July 23, 1977 before making their home back in Erick, where they began their family with one son and two daughters who they treasured. Marianne was a homemaker and stayed home to raise their babies while James provided for the family. She was a self-taught baker and made hundreds of cakes and cookies for any occasion throughout the years. She babysat many children, was a caretaker for Okla Hood, and once her kids were all in school, she was employed at the First American Bank as a teller until she had to retire due to a back injury from her basketball days in high school.
She was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan and loved football season. She enjoyed listening to all kinds of documentaries from historical romances based on Prairie times all the way up to Sasquatch encounters. But, it was the Bible that was the most important to her. Hear, believe, repent, confess, be baptized, and remain faithful to Christ was how she lived her life. She let His word guide her in all things. She was a member of the Erick Church of Christ and taught Sunday Morning Bible Class for many years. Marianne's love and kindness knew no bounds and she went above and beyond for anyone, even strangers. She was a bright light in this world and though she's gone, her legacy lives on.
Marianne was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Teresa Carlson, her brothers Dickie Snodgrass, Billy Snodgrass, and a baby brother; her brothers-in-law Wayne and Kenneth Greer; her daughter-in-law Kristy Greer and her grandbaby that she got to meet for the first time in Heaven.
She is survived by her husband James; her son Brady Greer and wife Mandi, her daughters Kelley Greer and Jamie Greer and husband Billy; her grandchildren Makayla Morris and husband Justin, Shane McGregor and fiancée Alex, Cody Greer, Shelby McGregor and boyfriend Prestan, Tanner McGregor and girlfriend Ashlee, Ransom Greer and fiancée Kiera, Carson Ardry, Caden Ardry, and Maxim McGregor; her great-grandchildren Michael Pimental, Savannah Greer, and baby boy Morris; her siblings Monni Zahm, Devonna Nobles, Karen Melton, Glenda Crosby, and Anthony Snodgrass; sister-in-law Linda and husband Jim Ledbetter; her brothers-in-law Ricky Greer and wife Judy and Kevin Greer and wife Lora; along with a host of other family members and friends that she dearly loved.
