Thelma Louise Ahrens was born January 30th, 1940 in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma to Vera Mae (Lancaster) and Haden Ewing Young. She passed away Saturday, June 13th, 2026 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 14 days.

Louise, known by most as "Weezee", began school in Eakley, Oklahoma. She later moved with her family to Hobart, Oklahoma and began the 5th grade in Hobart Public Schools. Louise graduated as a part of the class of 1958 and two weeks later married her high school sweetheart on June 8th, 1958. Together they remained in Hobart, Oklahoma where they began their family and Louise was employed with the Hobart Democrat as a writer, society editor, proof reader, and in the advertising department. In 1961 they moved the family to Lawton, Oklahoma where they continued to reside and raise their family. Besides raising her family, she also worked in the advertising department and as a proof reader for the Lawton Constitution. Throughout the 1960's, Louise ran an in-home daycare business where she cared for numerous children in the Lawton community. In the early 1970, the family moved to the family farm north of Lawton, Oklahoma. It was during this time that Louise began her career in civil service for the United States government at Ft. Sill. Louise was in charge of family housing for incoming families to the base. In 1985, Louise and Lewis moved to Altus, Oklahoma where she transferred in the same capacity at Altus Air Force Base. Louise formally retired in 2005, at the age of 65, and spent her retirement taking pictures, scrapbooking, traveling with Lewis, and spending time with her family and friends. All throughout her life, she was a member of the Church of Christ and could be found teaching Bible class and was a event coordinator of the Silver Saints.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Linda Mae; brother, Ray Young; and one brother-in-law, Johnny Ahrens.

Louise is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lewis; 4 children, Leasa Hartman and husband Glenn, Sayre, OK, Larry Ahrens and wife, Shelley, Coppell, TX, Lynne Ahrens, Lawton, OK, and Loren Ahrens and wife, Merrill, Altus, OK; 6 grandchildren, Lance Hartman and wife, Whitney, Drew Ahrens and wife, Savannah, Tanner Ahrens, Zachary Ahrens and wife, Charlene, Elizabeth Vining and husband, Adam, and Maddie McDonald; 5 great grandchildren, Kelby, Oliver, Blair, Jensen, and Cypher; 3 siblings, Donald Young and wife, Linda, Bill Young and wife, Jan, Kathy Kyle and husband, Doug; 2 sisters-in-law, Barbara Ahrens, and Trela Young; and 1 brother-in-law, Jerry Ahrens as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
