Lonnie Lewis Woodruff was born on April 11, 1933 to Ewell and Beulah (Barker) Woodruff in Dallas, Texas. He passed away on December 23, 2023 in Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years.

Like many families in the Great Depression, Lonnie's family relocated to California where he was raised and worked in the fruit orchards and farms. After being drafted into the United States Army in 1953, he served for two years on active duty. After his discharge he returned to the plains making Hollis, Oklahoma home. He married Peggy Sue (Webb) on November 1, 1959, in Childress, Texas and together they raised four boys. It was during this time that Lonnie also began his 55 year career in the rural electric cooperative industry. First at Harmon Electric and then 37 years with Northfork Electric in Sayre where they made their home for many years. Lonnie loved to visit with his many friends at the stock car races or at the casino. He loved to fish and spend many hours working in his woodshop. Lonnie was also a talented singer and guitarist playing in a popular local band, The Oklahoma Travelers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 son, Garland Pierce, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

He is survived by three sons, Rocky and Ruby Pierce, Pratt, KS, Ronnie and Linda Woodruff, Sayre, OK, Gregg and Donna Woodruff, Elk City, OK, 2 brothers, Buddy Leon Woodruff, Hollis, OK, Andy Woodruff, Hollis, OK, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and special friend, Eudora Trent.
