Lloyd Joe Patton was born August 12th, 1933 north of New Liberty, Oklahoma at his grandmothers house to Lillie Ruth (Weaver) and Edwin Allen Patton. He passed away Thursday, December 22nd, 2022 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 10 days.
Lloyd grew up in the New Liberty community where he attended school graduating in 1951. He furthered his education after graduation at Oklahoma A&M University. After a year of college, Lloyd returned to western Oklahoma where he began his own farming operation. He was married to Wanda (Porter) at Carter, Oklahoma on September 19th, 1954. After their marriage they lived in Sayre before he was drafted into the United States Army where he served in the 8th infantry unit. He was stationed in Colorado Springs before being deployed to Germany. He was discharged in December of 1957 and continued with the reserves. After Lloyd returned stateside he went back to farming and he and Wanda lived in and around the Carter community. In 1973 Lloyd began managing the COOP at Delhi and also served on the Oklahoma Cotton Board. He later served on the Northfork electric board from 1997 until 2017. Lloyd was also a member of the Sayre United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling with the Northfork board and spending time with his family and especially his grand children and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; great grandson, Ryker Patton; and 1 brother, Allen Ray Patton.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Wanda, of the home; 2 children, Brian Patton and wife, Diane, Sayre, OK and Debra Webb, Elk City, OK; 8 grandchildren, Dillon Patton, Michael Patton, Brodie Patton, Christal Cohagen, Alicia Cohagen, Eric Cohagen, Jackie Miller, and Hunter Webb; 13 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary Ella Agren, Edmond, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funerals service will be held Monday, December 26th, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Sayre United Methodist Church officiated by Alex Costea. Burial will follow at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals.com
