Obituary

Leon "Happy Jack" Edler was born June 10th, 1942 in Scottland, Texas to Theresia Marie (Vieth) and Bernard John "B.J." Edler. He passed away at his home west of Canute, Oklahoma on June 30th, 2023 at the age of 81 years and 20 days.

Shortly after his birth, Leon moved with his family to the Canute, Oklahoma community. He attended school at Canute Public Schools where he graduated in 1960. After graduation he began working on the family farm where they raised cattle and planted wheat and also during the summers would travel on wheat harvest. Throughout his life, Leon also worked as a truck driver and oil rig hand. He was married to Teresita Romulo Dorain at Wheeler, Texas on February 19th, 2010 and they made their home west of Canute, Oklahoma and continued to farm. Leon enjoyed flying in his piper cub, his cattle, country music and playing the violin.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eddie Edler; sister, Marylene Hawkins.

Leon is survived by his wife, Teresita, of the home; 5 children, Leonard Edler, Samantha Edler, Alan Edler, Carla Damron, and Trezel Dorain; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.
