Lenora Jean (Aston) Babcock was born November 1st, 1943 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Maurine Virginia (Lewis) and Newton Lawrence Aston. She passed away Friday, July 25th, 2025 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 24 days.
Lenora grew up and attended school in Delhi, Oklahoma. She graduated in 1962 and began her working career in Hobart at the hospital as a nurse. She was married to Everett A. Babcock on June 9th, 1964 in Hobart, Oklahoma. Together they started their family with the birth of their oldest son, Everett C. Babcock and later in 1965 moved back to her husband's hometown in Narragansett, Rhode Island.
While in Rhode Island, they welcomed their youngest son into the world, Edward "Eddie" W. Babcock. Lenora loved living near the ocean but always missed her Oklahoma family and traveled back yearly to Sayre to visit. In July of 1982, Lenora, her husband and two sons moved back to Sayre to make their home. In 1983, Lenora and her husbands marriage dissolved and she continued to raise her youngest son on her own. She worked several jobs to provide for her sons.
Lenora spent the majority of her life helping others working in hospitals, ambulance service, Sagebrush Incorporated, and Jones Health Care. She was also active in church activities at My Father's House of Prayer and enjoyed oil painting, receiving Tae Kwon Do instruction, caring for dogs and cats, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Eddie Babcock; 5 brothers, James Lewis, Charles Aston, Larry Aston, Eugene Aston, and Clarence Aston.
She is survived by her son, Everett Babcock and wife, Eva, Ada, OK; 3 grandchildren, Jolee Arnn and husband, Nicholas, Sayre, OK, Kristen Babcock, Austin, TX, and Cameron Babcock, Canyon, TX; 2 great grandchildren, Kaleb Arnn and Molly Arnn; 1 brother, Lawrence Aston and wife, Karen, Sayre, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
