Larry Harold Hood was born August 1st, 1948 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Verda Mae (Wade) and Harold Charlie Hood. He passed away at his home in Sayre, Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Larry grew up on the family ranch west of Willow, Oklahoma. He attended Ocina schools and later transferred to Carter where he graduated in 1966. After graduation he attended Panhandle State College and received his degree in Agriculture. He was married to Donna Marie Moore on August 28, 1971 in Deer Creek, Oklahoma. After their marriage they made their home in Willow, Oklahoma where he farmed wheat and cotton and raised cattle. Larry also held various other jobs including auctioneering, real estate and land appraisals. In what little spare time, he enjoyed going to eastern Oklahoma where he along with his parents loved to fish. He also enjoyed playing Dominoes with the locals in Willow and bird hunting. Larry was always very involved in his kids lives, attending many sporting events and any activity they were involved in. He served as a deacon in the Willow Church of Christ and currently was a member of the Sayre Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Verda Hood, and daughter in law, Emily Hood.

Larry is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; 3 sons, Danny Hood, Tulsa, OK, Darrell Hood and wife, Suzi, Newcastle, OK, and Darren Hood and wife, Kaci, Sayre, OK; 7 grandchildren, Morgin Newton, Nate Hood, Kynlee Hood, Luke Hood, Cooper Hood, Addyson Hood, and Sebastian Hood; 3 sisters, Karen Hood, Reba Johnston, and Sherri Pryor; 1 brother, Zearl Hood and a host of other relatives and friends.
