Kenneth Wayne Oren was born July 27th, 1948 in Erick, Oklahoma to Lorene (Stone) and James Herbert Oren. He passed away Saturday, August 20th, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years and 24 days. Kenneth grew up southwest of Erick, Oklahoma and attended Erick High School graduating in 1969. After graduation he bought and began farming and running a few cattle. He was enlisted in the Texas National Guard and served 6 years. It was during this time he was married to Kathy Cox at Mayfield, Oklahoma in the early part of 1972. They made their home in Erick until their house was built on the family farm at which time they moved there to raise their son, Kenny. Kenneth continued farming wheat ground, ran cattle, and drove semi's. After their marriage dissolved, Kenneth was remarried in 1990 to Carol (Berger) and gained 2 bonus sons, Lonny and Tommy. They remained in the Erick community to make their home. Kenneth enjoyed working on guns and being a collector, loved working on motors and Cushman scooters, driving and working on muscle cars and fishing down in the breaks and hunting arrowheads. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Mona Stanford and Ellen Moss; 1 sister-in-law, Judy Oren. Kenneth is survived by his son, Kenny Oren and wife, Terri, Sallisaw, OK; 2 bonus sons, Lonny Ritter and wife, Chasity, Elk City, OK and Tommy Ritter and wife, Jennifer, Indiahoma, OK; grandchildren, Skylar Oren, Kenyon Oren, Kensley Oren, Sawyer Oren, all of Sallisaw, OK; great grandchildren, Jaxyn, Jaspor, Kylen, and Rainie, all of Sallisaw, OK; 4 brothers, Johnny Oren and wife, Betsy, Arlington, TX, Stone Oren and wife, Mary, Erick, OK, James Oren, Erick, OK, and Charlie Oren and wife, Teresa, Shamrock, TX; 1 sister, Barbara Oren, Amarillo, TX and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 at Erick Cemetery officiated by Brother Charlie Floyd.
