Kelly Kirk Wright, affectionately known as "Crazy Kelly" of Sayre (Berlin), Oklahoma. Kelly was born February 7, 1958, and died at the age of 66 on March 11, 2024, in his home. Kelly had struggled with heart disease, diabetes, and degenerative disks for several years.

Kelly was born in Clinton, Oklahoma to Robert Carrol Wright and Ruby Dolores (Patton)Wright-Crose. Kelly's father passed away when he was 4 and his oldest brother, Bob, was killed in action in Vietnam when Kelly was 11.

Kelly attended school at Elk City schools and at a Burns Flat Special Education Program when he was younger. He was a good roller skater and enjoyed the people. When Kelly was in high school, he began staying at Bill Matthews' farm, and fell in love with country life. He eventually moved to the farm and helped Bill. They liked to banter with each other, but they took care of each other.

Kelly was baptized at First Baptist Church of Elk City, where his family attended faithfully. Throughout his lifetime he was cared for by several guardians, Bill "Sonny" Matthews (his mother's fiancé), Buddy Wright (his uncle) Vernon Crose (his stepfather), Kay Plummer, and Jimmy Beavin.

He loved to shop for fine, colorful, "fancy" western wear and nice cologne. He collected movies from almost every genre. He enjoyed collecting music as well, he first collected 8-tracks, then cassettes, then eventually made it to CDs. He never made the jump to digital formats. Kelly was fascinated with Elvis Presley and Roy Rogers. He loved to film family gatherings so he could relive the experience over and over. He LOVED family. Kelly always had dogs. They were his companions and he always wondered what they were thinking.

Because of Kelly's disability, he never held a traditional job, but helped a lot around the farm. He enjoyed being outdoors and learned to ride horses early on. He was very comfortable in the saddle and liked to ride in the Labor Day Parades and in the Grand Entry of the rodeo. He even went on a few of the trail rides with the Berlin Saddle Club.

Kelly loved music and he loved to dance. He loved to flirt, drink Diet Dr. Pepper and tease. He liked to walk up behind people and scare them. Kelly never met a stranger. He was very social, joyful, and playful. Kelly would make his rounds each week to different businesses around town to visit his friends. He often frequented the Sayre and Cheyenne court houses, as well as many restaurants. He loved a good burger and fries.

Kelly loved to travel and had made trips to Oak Ridge, TN several times, Disney World, Cancun, and even went on a Caribbean cruise.

Kelly is preceded in death by his father, Robert Carrol Wright, his mother, Rubye Dolores Wright-Crose, and brother, 2nd Lieutenant Robert (Bob) Carrol Wright, Jr.

Survivors include his brother, Michael Wright and wife Cheryl of Cushing, Oklahoma, and his sister, Shelly Wright Ash and husband Jeff, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He had three nieces, Traci Isbell of Jarrell, Texas. Andrea Wright of Cushing, Oklahoma, and Lyndsey Flatt and husband Jacob of Cushing, Oklahoma. He had one nephew, Wesley Carrol Wright of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews, Dalton Harrington, Tanner Harrington, Alexis Kaiser, Brogan Isbell, Chloe Wright, Abby Towler, Evie Flatt, Ethan Flatt, and Emerson Flatt.

There will be a memorial service on March 23, 2024, at 2pm at The Berlin Community Center, County Road 1080 and 1882. Please bring your lawn chair!!!
