Karron
Lavelle Rhodes
Jan 24, 1944 — Apr 5, 2023
Karron Lavelle Rhodes was born January 24, 1944 to Bob and Florine Knight. She had a twin, Sharron who died at birth. Karron went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 5, 2023.
Her growing up years were spent by her dad's side riding and messing with horses. She loved the outdoors. Her family moved to Friona, Texas in the early 1960's. She met and married Cleatus on September 1, 1963. They lived in Friona and the Black area for awhile where Kobie was born in 1965.
Then she and Cleatus began the ranching life where Karron was Cleatus' best hired hand. They ranched at Post, Texas for a while then on to McAlester, OK. They welcomed their second son. Kyle, in 1968.
Then they moved to Sayre, OK in 1979 where the boys spent their growing years.
Karron worked several places in Sayre - Courthouse, Southwestern Junior College and her latter years at Dollar General.
BUT, she spent all her extra time outside working with animals, turkeys, chickens, calves and of course, dogs. Another love of hers was her yard and keeping the bird houses they made stocked for the birds - attracted all kinds. Plus, she kept feed out for deer, turkeys, rabbits and more. That was real enjoyment looking out the picture window and watching them come in to eat.
At the time of her passing, her constant companions were her precious dogs - TJ and ABBY.
She and Cleatus joined First Baptist Church of Sayre in 1991. She got involved with the Senior Adult Choir that ministered often at nursing homes. She looked forward to that every Tuesday.
She was preceded in death by Cleatus, Kyle, her Dad and Mom, her step-dad, Jack Vaughn, her brother, Quentin Allen Knight, her beloved Auntie Margaret Parsons, Cleatus' parents, Friday & Maybian, and sister Margaret Ann Coker.
Survivors include Kobie and wife Ramona, Three Grandchildren, Lynci, Justin, and Lacey and families, and six precious great grandchildren.
Also survived by cousins, Jeanie and Rhonda and Jim Murphee and family, Cleatus' six siblings and their families and other relatives and dear friends.
Karron had a great support system and especially loved Wanda Cox, Chad and Lacy Compton and Luke, Jessie and Jim Lowrance, Meg Prestridge, Brent Worley, Bill (deceased) and Karen Crenshaw and family and her dear neighbors and church friends.
